Kristina Corre

Kristina Corre’s practice is driven by the question of what it means to take up space, as a woman of the Philippine diaspora who has been separated by geography, language, history from her motherland. What does it mean to be a Philippine-born Canadian artist, and how can this help to imagine and contribute to a just, decolonized future for a place she would like to call home?

Corre is a Philippine-born Canadian artist whose practice stems from her education in architecture, where she learned the importance of process and play. Though she is not pursuing architecture, her work continues to be guided by lessons of the importance of narratives, a love of materiality, meticulousness in her craft, and the careful, thoughtful use of space.
