Patricia Kenny explores themes of vulnerability, resilience, transformation and identity by examining transformative experiences universal to the human condition. She is interested in the connection between mind, body and identity through an exploration of life-altering memories, investigating how they reveal themselves as disruptors and impact our being. Abstract mark-making and incidental action create ambiguous biomorphic shapes and calligraphic lines alluding to the body and the memory of an action.
Kenny received her Fine Arts Diploma from Ottawa School of Art in 2017. She studied art history, sculpture, design and drawing at York University and painting and drawing at Algonquin College. She has received several awards and scholarships for her work and has participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Ontario and Quebec.
